The Fast and Furious franchise is undoubtedly popular across the world including India. With that in mind, the date of release of its upcoming film, Fast & Furious 8, has been declared in advance as 14th April 2017. The problem in this scenario is that India’s own film Baahubali: The Conclusion is also scheduled to be released on the same date.

The original Baahubali has performed exceptionally across the entire India and has raked in over 500 crores of business. Considering his, the sequel is likely to be released across 5000+ screens all over the country. Meanwhile, Fast & Furious 8 with its franchise power will also deserve at least a 3000+ screen release. Again, the problem is that India is expected to have only around 5500+ notable screens at its disposal a year from now. This takes away the option of a dual release.
Trade gurus suggest that since both the films are immensely popular and have their own niche, the release of both at once is not possible. It will be interesting to see which film backs down from the scheduled date!
