Mahesh Babu is set to collaborate with Trivikram for his next film, SSMB28. In the meantime, the actor has apparently signed a deal with a Telugu entertainment TV channel and he is being paid as much as Rs 9 crores for it.
As a part of the endorsement, Mahesh Babu will have to appear in the TV shows and TV serials that are telecasted on this channel.
Appearing in TV shows is one thing, but appearing in TV serials is something unconventional for a superstar of Mahesh Babu’s stature. A section of netizens are finding it hard to come to terms with the same.
“Nagarjuna and NTR did TV shows like Bigg Boss and Meelo Evaru Koteeswarulu. But no superstar of Mahesh’s stature ever appeared in a serial. It is cheap to even think of Mahesh appearing in a serial, albeit very briefly,” netizens comment.
That said, there’s also an argument that Mahesh will have to opportunity to get closer to the small screen audiences and family crowd if he makes frequent appearances in shows and serials. At the same time, the TV channel will also be largely benefited from Mahesh’s presence. A few argue that it is a win-win situation for both parties.
