For Telugu audiences, yesteryear heroine late Soundarya belongs to the callibre of Mahanati Savithri’s lineage of talented natural actresses. Director Kodi Rama Krishna was the first person who could judge her capabilities and give her an iconic role in ‘Ammoru’, the film which made Soundarya a household name in Telugu regions.
When the same Soundarya’s career started dimming a little, again Kodi Rama Krishna came to her rescue with a film titled ‘Dongaata’ starring Jagapathi Babu in the lead opposite Soundarya. Though it wasn’t a superhit film, it is one among her decent performances as a naive village belle among Soundarya’s films.
The same title is presently going to be Lakshmi Manchu’s upcoming movie’s title which she is going to do under her home banner Manchu Entertainments in which Rana Daggubati is also going to appear in a cameo role. This movie ‘Dongata’ is going to be helmed by one of Goutham Menon’s Protégé Vamshi Krishna. How this ‘Dongata’ is going to be different from late Soundarya’s ‘Dongaata’? Long way to even guess.
