Mirai BO: Weekday Curse Haunting Telugu Cinema

Mirai box office day 6 report

Mirai Box Office 95 Cr in 6 Days, Weekday Crash Worries Makers. The film started strong with big weekend numbers but its momentum is now slowing, especially in the Telugu states. According to box office tracker Pinkvilla, Mirai earned Rs. 15 crores on Friday, an impressive start.

It climbed to Rs. 17 crores on Saturday and peaked at Rs. 18 crores on Sunday. This gave the film a strong Rs. 50 crores weekend, positioning it as a potential big winner. However, the weekdays showed a different picture.

On Monday, collections dropped to Rs. 8 crores, nearly half of the opening day. Tuesday fell further to Rs. 6.5 crores. The Hindi version performed slightly better with discount day pricing, but by Wednesday, numbers dropped to Rs. 4.5 crores, a 35% fall.

In six days, Mirai collected Rs. 69 crores in India. With overseas earnings of Rs. 25 crores (USD 2.8 million), the worldwide total now stands at Rs. 94-95 crores. Trade experts say Mirai is a hit, but not the blockbuster it seemed after opening weekend.

The film now depends on its second weekend to stabilize. Current estimates suggest lifetime collections may reach Rs. 120-125 crores gross. While strong for a Teja Sajja film, it falls short compared to his last blockbuster HanuMan, which crossed Rs. 300 crores worldwide.

The trend of strong openings and steep weekday drops continues in Telugu cinema. After Hit 3 and Kuberaa, Mirai also struggled to sustain its early momentum.
