Why Telugu Stars Stayed Silent on Mirai?

Mirai is out and has turned into a bona fide success. It is not the kind of typical Telugu release we see every Friday at the box office. Yet, there has been little appreciation or recognition from the industry, especially from the top stars. Mahesh Babu who usually acknowledges and praises good films, remained silent on Mirai. The same goes for NTR, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan. In Prabhas’s case, he already supported Mirai by lending his voice for upcoming star Teja Sajja so he cannot be blamed here.

What is surprising is that many of these stars chose to rally behind a small film like Little Hearts. From Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, Naga Chaitanya, to Vijay Deverakonda, everyone showered praises on it-and rightly so, because the film deserves all the appreciation it received. But then, why the silence on Mirai? Why did big stars ignore an ambitious project that was made on a fraction of a star hero’s budget, yet delivered such quality?

Except for Nani, who openly appreciated the film, it felt like the rest acted as if Mirai did not even exist. Of course, it is not a written rule in the industry that every successful film must get praise from top heroes. Still, the same stars who celebrated Little Hearts completely ignored Mirai, a project that no mid-range or tier-2 hero has managed to pull off before. Even among tier-1 heroes, barring Baahubali and Kalki, there are hardly any examples of films mounted with such ambition and executed with this level of quality.

On social media, many comments point out that these so-called big stars show no hesitation in praising a YouTube actor’s film, yet they seem uncomfortable in wholeheartedly appreciating an ambitious effort like Mirai. The reason, some argue is that Mirai is the kind of film even they would struggle to deliver, which exposes a certain insecurity. This contrast highlights the lack of genuineness from the top Telugu heroes when it comes to supporting upcoming actors or ambitious projects.

Whatever the case, it would have been a graceful gesture if these Telugu top stars had openly acknowledged Mirai. Such recognition would have been a motivating factor for the producer, the upcoming actor Teja, the director Karthik Gattamneni, and the entire team behind the film.
