To everyone’s surprise, Naveen Polishetty’s Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty opened to a very positive response from both critics and general audiences. However, the film is facing tough competition from Jawan everywhere.
In the US, Jawan is priced at the standard rate of $10 per ticket, while Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty is priced at $15.
The US market heavily relies on a significant student population. Jawan appeals to the masses, whereas Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty offers a more straightforward, fun outing.
One may wonder whether it’s a good idea to maintain higher ticket prices for the latter compared to a superstar film with massive hype.
Under normal circumstances, this might not be a topic of discussion. However, with this clash, keeping higher ticket prices is likely to discourage a portion of the audience who feel that they can watch “Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty” on OTT since it’s a fun film.
The good news is that the film has been performing fairly decent so far, crossing the $300K mark. The first weekend will provide a clearer picture of its final performance.
