With L2: Empuraan just second on that list, Thuddaram is now anticipated to surpass it.
Both films have also surpassed their domestic gross with a successful international performance at the box office.
The previously released epic action movie L2: Empuraan collected Rs 268.05 crore at the international box office, overthrowing Manjummel Boys to become the highest-grossing Malayalam film globally.
Thaduram’s Rs 175.69 crore global collection in just 12 days, with Empuraan’s overall collection, marks the collective grossing of Rs 443.64 crore worldwide, with just over 56 crore left to surpass the historic 500 crore milestone.
Thaduram’s is predicted to hit Rs 200 owing to its impressive box office performance.
It is currently the fourth highest-grossing Malayalam movie globally, with Tovino Thomas’ 2018 coming in third.
If the current box office trends continue in both domestic and foreign markets, Thaduram is expected to overtake L2: Empuraan as the highest-grossing Malayalam movie worldwide.
With both the films released in a span of less than two months and Thudarum’s impressive domestic and international box office results, Mohanlal is expected to become the only Malayalam actor with two films that earn Rs 500 crore globally in 2025.
