Dacoit vs Alpha Box Office Clash

The fire glimpse of Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur’s Dacoit has been released on May 26, 2025. The release date of the film was also confirmed towards the end of the latest glimpse and it is arriving on December 25, 2025.

The glimpse starts with a voiceover of Adivi, who refers to someone called Juliet, saying that she was betrayed by everyone, which was not right. While Adivi says that he won’t do the same, he starts laughing as he says that he would destroy Juliet.

In between the voiceover, we get to see the glimpses of the lead characters, including Adivi, Mrunal, and Anurag Kashyap. Mrunal can be spotted with tears in her eyes and Anurag appears with an angry expression.

However, Adivi is seen with a smile on his face, which might look normal but there could be some secret seemingly hidden behind that smile. While the glimpse looks intense and because Adivi has also written the film, it remains to be seen if the trailer will be impressive enough to pull audiences.

Moreover, the film has been simultaneously shot in Hindi, which means that it might do some good business in North India if the promotional material is up to the mark. But at the same time, it will be facing a heavy competition on Christmas.

Alpha, the upcoming installment of YRF Spy Universe, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, is also releasing on December 25, 2025. The Spy Universe is also a big brand and their next film War 2 is arriving on August 14, 2025.

In case War 2 becomes a big blockbuster and if the makers added a glimpse of Alpha in the film like they did in Tiger 3, people might show more interest in watching Alpha.

Although Adivi is not a popular face like Allu Arjun in India, people praised his performance in Major, which was released in 2022, and was simultaneously shot in Hindi. The same year, Mrunal Thakur was also appreciated for her work in Sita Ramam, opposite Dulquer Salmaan.

In case the makers are willing to grab the attention of Hindi audiences, they have to release a trailer and some songs that can appeal to the North Indian market.

Promotional strategies have to be different this time and this is the only way for Dacoit to receive an equally positive response like Alpha in North Indian markets.
