Nagarjuna Akkineni had his customary Sankranthi release this year with Naa Saami Ranga. The film was shot in a quick duration and was released in theaters on the 14th of this month, marking Sankranthi.
In the domestic market, the film has recovered nearly 70% of the investments already which is a very positive sign. The start is a pretty good one and it can be enhanced further if the film holds well for the next couple of days.
In the USA, the film has expectedly struggled to any notable numbers. There wasn’t much buzz going into the film anyway, and add that to Nag’s disastrous recent track record, NSR was bound to struggle at the US box office.
The Telugu audience in the USA were of the opinion that NSR, being a senior hero film, could later be watched on OTT as it anyway doesn’t have the desired big-screen appeal. So even if NSR got a better word of mouth, it wouldn’t have opened any better in the USA.
But domestically, NSR is a breather for Nag as it has posted good revenues this Sankranthi and provided him with some much needed box office relief. This is a far better opening result than any of his recent films. The Sankranthi season has come to his rescue. This is a positive reinforcement for the Akkinani veteran.
