Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release date announcement of Prabhas’ starrer Kalki 2898 AD. The movie was postponed from May 9th due to general elections in the country.

Nag Ashwin is directing this sci-fi entertainer set in a dystopian world. The North Indian theatrical rights of the film are sold for a huge 100 crores to Anil Thadani.

There are talks in the media that Kalki will be released on June 14th or June 27th. Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 is also poised to release in June. The makers of both films have agreed to keep a gap of two weeks between their release dates. More clarity is expected soon.

The hype for Indian 2 is not on the level it should be. In Telugu and Tamil, it is still ok, but in the North, there is zilch interest in the film.

If Nag Ashwin delivers a compelling and engaging film with Kalki 2898 AD, then Indian 2 could be a washout at the box office.

If Shankar fails with Indian 2 then it could negatively affect his next film, Game Changer starring Ram Charan, considerably.
