The makers of Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga held a celebratory event last night and the main man, Nag, had an interesting announcement to make. He announced that he would be back next Sankranthi with a new film.

Nagarjuna has made it a habit to have a Sankranthi release whenever possible and this has worked fairly well for him. After super hit Soggade Chinni Nayana, the Sankranthi season worked fairly decently for Nag with Bangarraju and lastly, Naa Saami Ranga. He has announced a film for next Sankranthi as well. He didn’t reveal the details of the film but tentatively locked the Sankranthi slot.

It appears that Nag is trying to play it safe by having a release every Sankranthi. This might seem like a blatant safe game, but it just about does the job for Nag.

Rather than films like Ghost and Wild Dog around the year, Nag coming during Sankranthi with an entertainer makes a fair deal. He is anyway backed by family audience and is versed in rolling out films that work during Sankranthi. Perhaps it is time to wrap up experiments with underperforming directors and stick to his proven strategy which is working in his favor.

This way, fans are also satisfied with entertaining Sankranthi films from their hero and the producer is also likely to be on the safer side with assured revenues. This stabilizes Nag’s market as well, which further lets him do occasional filler films to his liking.
