Actor Nikhil Siddhartha recently found himself in the middle of a controversy on social media after making a comment about the use of AI in films. Nikhil is currently acting in Swayambhu, which is set to release in April 2026. The teaser of the film got a decent response, but due to a technical issue on YouTube, the team had to re-upload it.
While sharing the new teaser, Nikhil clearly mentioned that Swayambhu does not use any AI generated visuals. He said all the graphics were done by the VFX team under the director’s supervision, using real work and CG. This statement quickly caught people’s attention online.
Soon after, many felt that Nikhil was indirectly targeting the recently released teaser of Nagabandham, which also received a good response. The situation became more serious when Nikhil made a stronger comment saying, “No AI has been used in our film, unlike other recently released films.” This led to mixed reactions on social media.
Nikhil may be feeling that his hard work is not getting enough credit, which is understandable. But the main issue here is his direct comment about another film. It is okay to proudly say that his film does not use AI, but pointing fingers at others can create unnecessary controversies.
Both Swayambhu and Nagabandham are releasing this summer, and comparisons will naturally happen. From here on, it would be better for Nikhil to handle such matters more calmly. He has a good image and taking a dig at other films reeks of jealousy and insecurity, which does not suit him.
