No rail for tax: Young hero’s film for title change

In Tamil Nadu, only film titles in Tamil language get tax exemption from government and hence filmmakers don’ take the risk to risk the tax exemption clause for their films. Therefore, young hero Dhanush’s film has to go for a title change.

Previously the film was tentatively titled as ‘Rail’ and though the director Solomon Prabhu wanted to take ‘Train’ as title because the film’s story is about what happens during two nights and a day in a train. But ‘Train’ is an English word.

Finally, the makers came up with a title ‘Thodari’ for Dhanush’s film, which means ‘Train’ in Tamil. Dhanush is playing a pantry worker while the leading lady Keerthi Suresh is playing a touch up lady in the film. Of course it’s a romantic story.
