After conquering the markets in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam through various sister networks the Star India is now setting foot into Telugu bastion by acquiring MAA TV Network.
Today an official announcement was made regarding this acquisition by both the parties at a press meet. Top officials related to both the parties like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Nimmagadda Prasad and Uday Shankar etc attended it. Speaking at the meet, CEO of Star India, Uday Shankar said that they have been looking at entering the Telugu market, second largest in India, for a very long time but until now it didn’t materialize on desirable terms.
MAA TV Chairman, Prasad said that it is a big leap that will take the Network to a new level. Star India along with its parent company 21st Century Fox has the national as well as global expertise at their disposal to achieve this. Finally he concluded by saying that it is the Telugu audience who ultimately gain with this initiative as they get access qualitative entertainment content.
