Trivikram Srinivas is taking extra care with NTR’s look for their upcoming mythological film, which is being planned on a massive scale. The director is reportedly spending considerable time with the VFX team to finalize the actor’s appearance.
NTR is said to be playing Lord Subrahmanya Swamy, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Since the character has a divine presence, Trivikram wants the look to have the right combination of grandeur and authenticity. The VFX team is currently working specifically on NTR’s appearance, with the director closely involved in the process.
NTR’s look in Dragon has already received mixed reactions. While many fans appreciated his super lean appearance, some felt he looked too thin, malnourished and weak. It remains to be seen how Prashanth Neel presents NTR in Dragon and how different the actor will look when Trivikram transforms him for the role of Lord Subrahmanya Swamy.
The film’s shooting schedule was postponed due to NTR’s shoulder injury. Trivikram is said to have used the break to make further improvements to the script and strengthen the overall story.
More importantly, the director is planning to create a huge world that has never been seen before in Telugu cinema. The project comes after NTR’s Dragon and is expected to be one of the biggest films of the actor’s career. Its mythological setting and pan-India scale have increased expectations considerably.
The film is also particularly important to Trivikram as it is said to be his dream project. This is reportedly one of the main reasons why he is not rushing any aspect of the production, especially the world-building, character design and VFX.
God of War is being produced by S. Radha Krishna and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram under the Harika & Hassine Creations and NTR Arts banners. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music.
With NTR playing a powerful mythological character and Trivikram attempting to build an entirely new cinematic world, the project is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious films of NTR’s career.
