Apart from Prabhas’ captivating performance, one of the key factors behind the tremendous success of Baahubali on a pan-Indian scale was the exceptional dubbing provided for Prabhas in various languages.
In the Hindi version, Sharad Kelkar’s magnetic voice worked like magic and became synonymous with the character of Narendra Baahubali.
However, after the Baahubali series, Prabhas attempted to experiment by using his own voice, even in languages like Hindi. Unfortunately, this move backfired significantly in movies like Saaho and Radhe Shyam. Even when Sharad Kelkar returned for Adipurush, the lackluster content rendered the dubbing inconsequential.
In the case of Salaar, Prabhas’s voice will be dubbed by talented actors in various languages, marking a positive development for the film. Sharad Kelkar will be lending his voice for the Hindi version of Salaar, while the talented Vasishta Simha will provide the Kannada dubbing for Prabhas’s character.
Vasishta has gained popularity, particularly for his performance as Kamal in KGF, the character who gets shot by Rocky Bhai. He has not only made a name for himself through his acting but also with his commanding voice, which has become one of his trademarks.
Thus, it is only fitting to imagine him as the ideal candidate to not only dub for Prabhas’s character but also to enhance the larger-than-life world that director Prashanth Neel has meticulously crafted.
The inclusion of Vasishta Simha in Salaar is undoubtedly a piece of good news for the film.
