Producer Neelima Tirumalasetti is extremely happy that the idea to screen her film Alias Janaki has worked in her favour and has actually helped her to even break even. The film released simultaneously online on Zingreel, an online platform for cinema viewing, and managed to get nearly 2000 views on first day. It’s been a week since the film released and the film has had nearly 4000 views so far.
Neelima believes this is a great start for small films as online portal is a great revenue model for low-budget flicks like hers. Even though she faced lot of criticism from theatre owners and distributors for her move to release the film online, Neelima didn’t give up and went ahead and released it.
Neelima has also released the film on YUPP TV starting today, and she hopes more small films are likely to follow suit. She says despite the challenges she faced she will go ahead and release all her films online hereafter.
