Considering the increased stakes and the added pan India pressure on superstar films, top stars have been taking their own sweet time to execute their projects.

For instance, Ram Charan and Jr NTR’s RRR was released in March 2022 and since then, they haven’t had a single release. Well, Charan had Acharya but this was a miniature role. It is taking a near 2 and a half years for them to have a new release.

But on the other hand, we have Tamil superstar Vijay who has made perfect use of the last decade with his impeccable planning and execution.

Between 2014-24, Vijay has 13 new releases. After the biggest hit of his career – Leo which released last October, Vijay is coming back quickly with GOAT which is announced for September 5 release.

If we look at the trend, Vijay has a new release every 11 months or even less in some cases. Adding to that, he is maintaining the quality of the films. Five of his last six films(Sarkar, Bigil, Master, Varisu, and Leo), barring Beast have worked at the box office.

Even if we put the box office returns aside, the desire of the hero to have a new release every year to satisfy fans has resulted in him amassing a huge following in the Tamil belt. He is the biggest name in Tamil cinema now. Perhaps no other Indian superstar has made the most of the last decade, as much as Vijay did.

While Telugu stars take at least 2 to 2 and a half years to make a film, they make 5, or at best 6 films per decade. But Vijay is doubling this tally with perfect planning and execution.
