The bookings for Christopher Nolan’s much-awaited Oppenheimer were recently opened at the prestigious Prasads IMAX in Hyderabad, and the response has been nothing short of phenomenal. According to reports, within a mere five hours, more than 7,000 tickets were sold for the film’s opening weekend.
The film has also already sold more than 12,000 tickets in PVR+INOX alone for the opening day. The weekend ticket sales were around 25,000 at IMAX properties in the country. Seeing the excellent response to the advance bookings and with 17 days still to go, it can be said that Oppenheimer is all set to take a big opening in India at the box office.
Despite Oppenheimer being a non-franchise film, a 3-hour biopic on an American scientist, and an adult film with dark undertones, the film is raking up huge advances.
The excellent bookings also prove once again that Christopher Nolan is one of the biggest brands, particularly among discerning and premium cinephiles. The unwavering popularity and trust that audiences place in Nolan’s creative vision and cinematic brilliance are remarkable.
