Jagapati Babu, who is happy playing villain roles says that even heroes grow old and they should respect it and move on to other roles in cinema. However, he says, we still cling on to age-defying roles even at the age of 50. We still want to play heroes.
He says he doesn’t mind character roles because he knows he is old now and audience may not like to see him in lead roles. He also adds that an actor might be still playing hero because of his fan following but if that’s the case then Amitabh Bachchan should still be playing hero roles.
We should do roles that suit our age. I don’t think romancing a heroine as old as your daughter makes sense for a hero. It’s sad we are still in an era where heroes proudly romance heroines half their age.
