The trailer for Sivakarthikeyan‘s most anticipated film Parasakthi directed by Sudha Kongara was released a few hours ago and is receiving mixed responses from audiences and critics.
Even though Parasakthi initially didn’t have much buzz, after the team announced that the film would be released on January 10th, resulting in a neck and neck clash with Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, the clash factor helped to increase the hype for the film amongst the audiences.
However, after watching the trailer, some feel that it is super solid. They note that the visuals are jaw-dropping and the team has done a neat job of presenting 1960s Madras.
On the other hand some people feel that despite having a stellar cast, the trailer is very average with flat cuts and pacing. They also argue that GV Prakash Kumar’s background score is weak and that he is slowly becoming outdated.
But others feel that we cannot predict the verdict of the film from the trailer alone. Also, they strongly believe Sudha Kongara will never disappoint by pointing to her previous two films, Soorarai Pottru and Irudhi Suttru.
Also, some suggest that the trailer makes it evident the film might face severe backlash or get caught up in controversy after its release, since the core concept and the way they handled the anti-Hindi theme might trigger a certain set of people.
Overall, with the mixed reviews of the trailer, it remains to be seen whether Parasakthi will satisfy the expectations of the audience and emerge as a blockbuster success upon its release on January 10th.
