PK’s Market Has Crashed. Who Should Be Blamed?

Pawan Kalyan box office market decline news

Another film from Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is staring at massive, embarrassing results and heavy losses for buyers, both in North America and the Telugu states.

This is not new. If you look at his recent films, projects like Bro, Harihara Veeramallu, and now Ustaad Bhagat Singh have ended with disappointing results and poor collections. It is not just about one film anymore. It is clearly affecting his overall market.

Once known for strong openings, Pawan Kalyan is now struggling to pull numbers even on par with Tier 2 heroes. That is the harsh reality.

So who is to blame? Directors choosing weak scripts, producers backing the wrong projects, or the hero signing films without enough thought. The answer is simple. It is a combination of all three.

There is no immunity for any star today. We are in the OTT era. If a film does not generate genuine excitement, even among hardcore fans, audiences are not turning up to theaters. That is exactly what happened with Ustaad Bhagat Singh.

We are now talking about a film that may not even touch the $1 million mark in the US. The poor numbers say it all.

During Harihara Veeramallu, an animated film like Mahavatar Narasimha dominated the market and crushed Pawan Kalyan’s movie. Now Dhurandhar 2 has taken over the audience’s attention and no one paid attention to Ustaad.

For a star of his stature, not being able to pull even decent collections shows how much the market has crashed.

Unless he reassess his choices and gets serious about his next film, the situation is only going to get worse.
