Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is now caught in a lot of confusion around its release date. The film was earlier planned to release on April 30, but that is no longer possible due to delays in shooting and post-production work.
With that plan gone, the makers are now looking at June for release. One date that is being seriously considered is June 4. This date was already announced by Yash’s big film Toxic. But now there are doubts about whether Toxic will be ready on time. If that film gets delayed, Peddi might take over the same date.
There was also talk about releasing on June 25, but that would mean clashing with Akhil Akkineni’s film Lenin. Since both are Telugu films, the makers may want to avoid that clash. Also, Lenin has sacrificed its release date for Peddi many times, so it’s not ethical to clash with Lenin. That is why June 4 is looking like the better option for now.
This creates an interesting situation. If Toxic sticks to its date, then both films could release on the same day. That would lead to a big box office clash between two major pan India films. Toxic vs Peddi that was earlier expected to happen in March 2026 might now happen in June instead.
The film Peddi has already created good buzz with its first glimpse and songs. Toxic on the other hand is struggling to create buzz even with all its stars, glamor, sex appeal, and bold content. Even though Toxic officially announced June 4, there is still no full clarity on whether it can release on that date.
At this point, everything is still uncertain. The final decision will depend on which film is ready on time and which team is willing to take the risk.
Also, even if Peddi gets a solo release, that does not guarantee success. Audience expectations are very high now. Just star power and scale are not enough. If the content does not connect, people are quick to skip films, especially in theaters and watch on OTT.
It is a wait and watch situation. Either Peddi gets a clear release window and benefits from it, or it ends up in a clash that could affect both films. The next few weeks will decide how this plays out.
