Tamil Mass Star Vijay’s Pongal release ‘Bairavaa‘ opened up to mixed talk. The movie’s run time was two hours and forty minutes. Now, it is said to be cut short by 6-7 minutes to make the film more crisp for watching.

Many big films had to go through this after release when audiences and critics believed that the film was too lengthy, otherwise, if they opined there are some unnecessary scenes which add only to the length obstructing the flow of the narrative. It’s not only ‘Bairavaa’, many other movies like Mahesh Babu’s ‘1- Nenokkadine’ among others went for post-release trimming.
This happens whenever makers of such lengthy movies fail to realize that the narrative flow might be hindered and the movie may seem dragged a bit because of some unnecessary scenes. Post-release trimming might be a benefit if it caters to the tastes of the general audiences as well.
