Prabhas’ Busy Calendar Becomes A Headache For Kalki 2

Prabhas faces a packed film schedule

Prabhas has reached a point where the problem is no longer finding big films. It is finding enough dates for all of them.

The actor has signed some of the biggest projects in Indian cinema, but his packed schedule is now creating a tricky situation for the makers. At present, Fauzi appears to be getting priority, with Prabhas giving the film a substantial block of dates as the team works towards its release. Reports have indicated that his portions were expected to be completed around the end of August.

After Fauzi, Spirit is another major commitment. At the same time, Kalki 2 is already in production. Director Nag Ashwin recently revealed that the team has completed only around 10 days of shooting and admitted that even he does not know exactly when the next schedule with Prabhas will begin.

That statement has put the spotlight back on Prabhas’ dates.

The interesting question now is whether Prabhas will divide his time between Spirit and Kalki 2, allowing both productions to move forward simultaneously, or whether Kalki 2 will once again have to wait for his availability.

For a film of Kalki 2’s scale, this is more than a routine date issue. The makers are reportedly targeting a December 2027 release and have a substantial VFX and post-production process ahead.

Prabhas has successfully worked on multiple films simultaneously in the past. But with Fauzi, Spirit and Kalki 2 all demanding his time, the next few months could reveal whether this strategy remains manageable or whether one project inevitably has to wait for another.

And right now, Kalki 2 appears to be the film waiting for clarity.
