After the Adipurush fiasco, Prabhas is once again teaming up with producer Bhushan Kumar for Spirit, to be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Bhushan recently revealed that Prabhas is playing the role of a badass cop in the film, and the film will start shooting in June 2024.
Right now, Prabhas’ Salaar is hanging with no release date and causing headaches for other films. No one has any idea about when and how his futuristic sci-fi action drama Kalki 2898 AD will be released, as the makers might take a long time to achieve their vision and imagination.
Prabhas also has a secret project lined up directed by Maruthi, for which he has completed a few schedules. The producers have not even made an official announcement that such a film is being made for reasons known only to them.
There are reports that Prabhas has given the nod to play Lord Shiva in Manchu Vishnu’s mythological epic, Kannappa. And now, Spirit is going to start shooting in June next year. Then there is also Salaar’s part 2.
Projects are piling up for Prabhas with huge budgets, and it looks like no project is achieving its logical conclusion any time soon. Despite getting huge openings, none of Prabhas’ films have achieved break-even post-Baahubali 2.
Despite being one of the biggest pan-India heroes, Prabhas is turning out to be a loss-making machine for his producers and distributors. On top of it, he is committing to projects left, right, and center, leaving his fans in total confusion. His ‘not-so-appealing’ looks in his recent films are also becoming one of the concerns for his fans.
Even the hype for some of his biggest projects is getting diluted because of this chaos and confusion. It is better for Prabhas to take some time to retrospect his decisions and complete one film before committing to the next.
