Speculations have been growing on the internet regarding the potential replacement of Suriya in the mythological epic ‘Karna’. It is being said that Prabhas may be approached for the role of Karna owing to his star power.
This decision comes amidst Suriya’s underwhelming performance in Kanguva which failed to capture the hearts of the audience, especially in the northern belt.

The increasing concerns ultimately led to the shelving of ‘Karna’, originally helmed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and backed by Excel Entertainment.
The filmmakers are eyeing Prabhas as a commercially viable option, owing to his high bankability. However, concerns regarding the star’s already existing role of Karna in the Kalki franchise have created doubts.
