When the much-anticipated collaboration between Rebel Star Prabhas and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was announced, fans were electrified. Titled Spirit, the film created instant buzz online, with hashtags trending and fan-made posters flooding social media timelines. The excitement was palpable.
Originally, filming was expected to begin in September 2025. Sandeep Reddy Vanga had hinted at this in earlier interviews, further raising expectations. But new reports from industry insiders suggest the film’s start date has been pushed back. The delay is reportedly due to the director’s meticulous approach and Prabhas’ crowded shooting schedule.
Sandeep is reportedly taking extra care to finalise the script and pre-production before filming. Meanwhile, Prabhas is occupied with other projects—The Raja Saab and Fouji—both of which are still in progress and demanding his full attention. This overlap is making it difficult to start Spirit on time.
Now, insiders suggest that Spirit may only begin filming in December 2025 or early 2026. This isn’t the first delay the project has faced. Initially planned for February 2025, the schedule was moved to summer, then to September, and now potentially to the year’s end.
Despite the repeated postponements, fan excitement hasn’t waned. Reports indicate that Sandeep has asked for bulk dates from Prabhas and wants to maintain secrecy around the lead character’s appearance to preserve the film’s mystique. With Sandeep known for emotionally charged blockbusters and Prabhas commanding a massive following, Spirit remains one of the most highly anticipated Indian films.
