The Renukaswamy murder case involving Kannada actor Darshan has taken a major turn. Pradosh, one of the accused in the case and listed as A-14, has approached the court seeking to turn approver.
Pradosh has reportedly offered to reveal everything he knows about the murder, the role of the other accused, and what happened after Renukaswamy was killed. He has also sought pardon in return for making a complete and truthful disclosure before the court.
What Pradosh Has Revealed
According to details that emerged during the investigation and Pradosh’s statement, Renukaswamy was subjected to brutal torture before his death.
Renukaswamy had sent messages to Pavithra Gowda. Following this, he was brought to a shed, where he was assaulted. Darshan abused Renukaswamy and beat him so severely that he suffered bleeding from his head. Renukaswamy was stripped down to his underwear and tied to a Tata Ace vehicle with a nylon rope. He was then attacked repeatedly.
Pavithra Gowda also reached the location after Darshan called her. Pradosh revealed that she abused Renukaswamy and hit him with her footwear. The assault continued even after Renukaswamy was given food and water. Darshan kicked him hard on his chest and neck, causing him to lose consciousness.
According to Pradosh’s statement, Darshan then tried to stand on Renukaswamy’s chest. Pradosh reportedly told investigators that he pulled Darshan away and realized that Renukaswamy had died.
Pradosh has also revealed details about what happened after Renukaswamy’s death.
According to his statement, Darshan said that he would shoot himself if the matter was not settled. Following this, discussions were held to create a story that could conceal what had happened.
Pradosh also claimed that efforts were made to dispose of the body and conceal the circumstances surrounding Renukaswamy’s death.
Pradosh has also expressed concern about his safety. In his petition, he has requested that he be kept in a separate cell instead of being housed with Darshan and his associates. He has reportedly told the court that he has disclosed the information known to him and wants protection.
It is important to note that Pradosh has sought to become an approver. He has not yet been finally granted approver status. The court is hearing his petition and will pass its final order. If the court accepts the request and Pradosh gives a complete statement, his testimony could become extremely important for the prosecution.
Darshan and Pavithra Gowda were arrested in June 2024 in connection with Renukaswamy’s murder. The case has since remained one of the biggest controversies in the Kannada film industry.
The big question now is what exactly Pradosh will tell the court if he is granted approver status, and how much of his testimony could impact Darshan and the other accused.
