Neel Can Be a Boyapati, if Not Corrected!Prashanth Neel is the man of the hour now, thanks to the blockbuster success of KGF 2. He is working with Prabhas for Salaar now and is set to collaborate with NTR in the near future. But there is one technical aspect of Prashanth’s making style that needs to be corrected.

The one common thing in KGF and KGF 2 is reaction shots, dark tone, and extensive action. Prashanth is elevating Telugu commercial cinema format and presenting it in his own style. But there is the risk of things turning repetitive.

For instance, there is a parliament scene and ship sequence in KGF 2, which would have been trolled had a mainstream Telugu star done them. If he uses such scenes in Salaar and NTR’s next, the end result might not be all that appealing for him.

For example, after delivering hits with Simha and Sarrainodu, Boyapati Sreenu went berserk and made Vinaya Vidheya Rama. Beyond a point, Boyapati left cinematic sense and in an urge to better the mass appeal, he wrote wild scenes for VVR. Everyone knows what happened next.

Same with Neel now. He has delivered two mass hits with KGF and KGF 2. He might well be trying to evoke more mass with Salaar. In accordance, the Prabhas starrer also appears to have same the dark tone and extensive action. He might feel the pressure to deliver more mental mass than KGF 2 and this is when things can go South.

This is one of the reasons why Rajamouli picks completely different backdrops for all his films. Consecutive films with the same backdrop and tonal specifications are the recipe to disaster as there is the pressure to better the previous film. This can lead to troll-worthy scenes like what Boyapati did with VVR. Neel should keep this in mind and act wisely.
