When the announcement was made about KGF director Prashanth Neel’s film with NTR, Nandamuri fans celebrated. They saw it as NTR securing his position with mass roles early in his career but gradually moving towards wider acceptance.
Today, Prashanth Neel revealed, “It’s a different film with different emotions. I don’t want to specify the genre, but it might be assumed as an action film. It’s a new story for me, carrying its own emotion, and I hope people connect with it.”
There’s talk that Prashanth Neel is stuck in the same KGF vibe, evident from the negative reactions to the Salaar trailer. It’s promising that he’s attempting something different for NTR.
However, there’s concern: will he succeed if he moves away from the usual mass appeal and dark cinematography?
When NTR collaborated with Trivikram, expectations were high for another Attarintiki Daredi-like blockbuster, but it turned out to be an average film like Aravinda Sametha.
Similarly, Sukumar’s Nannaku Prematho for NTR was also just average.
The question remains: will Neel follow suit? After delivering blockbusters, will he give NTR an average film, or as he mentioned, surprise everyone with a new story and style?
