Prithviraj Sukumaran’s new look has grabbed a lot of attention on social media, with netizens speculating that it might be associated with S.S. Rajamouli’s upcoming big-budget film, SSMB29.
Prithviraj shared a photo through his official Instagram page on March 3, 2025, where he was spotted with a clean-shaved face alongside a mustache. While there were speculations that the picture was generated by AI, his mother Mallika dismissed the claims below a Facebook post.

While Mallika did not confirm if the new look was for SSMB29, she revealed that Prithviraj will be leaving to work for Rajamouli’s film. Notably, the actor is yet to share more details from his side.
SSMB29 is being filmed secretly with the makers not disclosing much about the project to the general public. Rajamouli had already made the cast and crew sign an NDA for the same based on which no one can reveal anything about the film until the makers take a call.

The film’s budget is reportedly said to be around Rs. 1,000 crores. It will feature Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.
Although Prithviraj has not spoken up on the role he would portray, his casting is expected to bring heavy profits for SSMB29 in the Malayalam market. However, the producers have not confirmed if the film will be released in Hindi.

Considering that the film will be divided into two parts, with the first installment arriving next year, it remains to be seen if Prithviraj will get enough screen space in both.
