Pushpa 2 The Rule, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is set for a record-breaking box office start.
The first part released in 2021 became a hit in Hindi despite a 50% occupancy in key markets. The Hindi version of Pushpa The Rise was initially released on less than 1000 screens in North India but later expanded to more than 1500 screens due to its superb long run.
For Pushpa 2 The Rule, the target is to release on 4500+ screens in North India. The film is aiming for a global release across 10,000 screens. The makers have confirmed that the movie will be released in IMAX and 3D.
While advance booking in India hasn’t started, the interest in BookMyShow and PayTm shows a storm is awaiting. This initial rush is comparable to the release of KGF 2.
The film’s overseas bookings are already strong. In North America, the total for premiere bookings has reached around $1.35 million.
In Australia, the leading cinema chain has already sold around A$100,000 in tickets across all versions. If this trend continues, Pushpa 2 The Rule could join the top 3 all-time openers in Australia, which are currently Baahubali 2 The Conclusion (A$825,000), RRR (A$702,000), and Pathaan (A$566,000).
For a successful long-term run, the Hindi version of the film is extremely crucial, especially in major markets like North America, the Gulf, and the UK.
A strong performance in these regions could push the lifetime earnings of the movie to unheard levels. The movie is expected to join the ranks of top South Indian films and touch the $25 Million mark overseas.
The worldwide target for Pushpa 2 would be around 1000-1200 crores gross. But the team would be dreaming of touching the 1500 crore mark.
Pushpa 2 is trending as a true Pan-India film with bookings across multiple languages and not just Telugu.
