There is not debating the fact that Rajamouli is the biggest commercial film maker in Indian cinema at this moment, and it needs to be said that this has been the case for more than a decade now.
On that note, it can perhaps be argued that Rajamouli has this one particular attribute that he can learn from Sukumar, and this is regarding the promotion of young talent.
Sukumar has been very consistent and encouraging of his assistant directors team, and even playing a crucial role in launching them as directors. Not everyone out of them might have been successful, but case of Buchi Babu, where he was able to handle a big film like Peddi is to be noted.
There is no doubting that Rajamouli is a generational talent, and he might not have the time and effort to groom his team accordingly, as he himself is occupied with his work all the time.
But if Rajamouli can somehow find the energy to channel it into grooming his assistant director, then there is a lot of good that could be happening to the film industry.
The kind of vision and conviction that Rajamouli has is beyond ordinary, and if members of his team can learn from the same, then there is a lot of potential to be had here. Even the industry needs solid young talent who can make big films, and there is no better position to learn this than being a part of Rajamouli’s team.
