Following the failure of Coolie, Rajinikanth is now all set to return with his next release, which is his most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and it is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15th.
Since the announcement, this film has had huge expectations among the audience, as the original Jailer was a massive success and collected more than 600 crores at the time.
Now, one major expectation among the Kollywood audience is whether Jailer 2 will achieve the 1000 crore box office collection and become the first 1000 crore grosser in the Kollywood industry.
While every major industry in Indian cinema has already achieved the 1000 crore box office figure, despite being one of the biggest industries, Kollywood is still struggling to achieve it.
Many Kollywood trackers on social media are suggesting that Jailer 2 will be the final chance for Kollywood to hit the 1000 crore mark. This is because they note that, in the Kollywood industry, until now only Vijay and Rajinikanth have a huge Pan-Indian stardom and market.
Since Vijay has put an end to his acting career and emerged as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth is now the only hope for the Kollywood industry to achieve the dream 1000 crore mark. Hence, they claim that the most anticipated reunion project of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, which was announced under the Red Giant banner, might also have the possibility of being shelved.
