Hindi box office was once very receptive of Telugu films as every other star hero film used to work brilliantly at the Hindi market. But that is not even remotely the case now as things are not looking very promising.
Most recent big film release from Telugu Cinema is Ram Charan’s Peddi and it could pool around Rs 12 Crore gross in Hindi in the opening weekend.
This brings us to the discussion on whether the Hindi audience are actually with the Telugu commercial cinema template and are looking to increase the same.
This will ultimately be decided when we see films like Allu Arjun’s Raka and Kannada star Yash’s Toxic. In particular, there is going to be a lot of anticipation on the Arjun film, considering that this is his immediate next release after the iconic Pushpa 2.
The second part of Pushpa was a massive success in Hindi belt, so the natural expectation would be that Allu Arjun would come up with another sensational number with Raka.
Yash also tasted success with KGF and we have to see if his Toxic would be encouraged by the Hindi folk or not.
The box office performance of these two films could potentially decide whether the Hindi audience are actually fans of the Telugu stars, or if they’re here only for quality films and not for hero worship.
