The release plans of Ram Charan’s Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, has been officially pushed to June 2026 due to pending shoot and post-production requirements.
One of the primary factors behind this postponement is a crucial special song that the team considers vital to the film’s overall impact. This is not just another addition to the soundtrack. It is being treated as a centerpiece designed to elevate the film’s mass appeal. Reports indicate that Mallu beauty Samyuktha Menon has been brought on board to feature alongside Ram Charan in this high-energy number. The shoot is set to begin in Vanasthalipuram from tomorrow, April 22, and the makers are investing significant time and effort to get it right.
Because the film sacrificed a prime summer release window mainly for this song, expectations have skyrocketed. The song has now turned out to be one of the most hyped elements from the film. The pressure is now firmly on Ram Charan, the choreographer, and Buchi Babu Sana to deliver a track that leaves a lasting cultural impact.
There is also an added layer of expectation because Buchi Babu Sana comes from Sukumar’s school of filmmaking. That automatically raises the bar for how this song is designed, shot, and positioned. This song will be compared to iconic chartbusters like Aa Ante Amalapuram, Ringa Ringa, and Oo Antava Mama, songs that not only boosted their films but also became long-term pop culture phenomena.
If the song clicks, it could justify the delay and significantly boost the film’s openings. If it fails to meet expectations like Kissik from Pushpa 2, the backlash could be brutal, especially since the film has already missed strong release dates because of it.
At this point, there is no middle ground. The song has to work and not just work but stay. If it does not, the cost will not just be the delay, but the narrative around the film itself.
