Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are reuniting on screen in Rana Baali. But this time, the stakes are much higher. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the period war action drama is ready for its first major promotional push. Mythri Movie Makers has announced the teaser for tomorrow, September 9, at 4:05 PM.
Titled The Savage’s Oath, the teaser is going to be the most important update from the film so far.
Rana Baali is set in a drought-hit region where people struggle even for food. Vijay’s character reportedly takes up arms against the British. If the teaser delivers powerful visuals, raw action, and strong emotions, it can immediately show that this is a different film for Vijay. And Vijay Deverakonda badly needs that impact. He has delivered no genuine box office success for almost 8 years now.
Kingdom and Family Star were massive setbacks for Vijay. His theatrical market has taken a hit, and Rana Baali is now his biggest chance to change the narrative. The teaser must convince audiences that Vijay Deverakonda is back with something worth watching on the big screen.
The teaser is also important for the film’s business. Buyers and distributors will be watching closely ahead of the film’s release on October 16. A strong first impression can boost its hype and create confidence among all parties concerned. A weak teaser, however, will kill whatever expectations and buzz it has had till now.
The technical side will also be closely watched. Ajay-Atul’s music and BGM are expected to be major highlights, while Arnold Vosloo, known for The Mummy, plays the villain. The period setting, British-era conflict, war backdrop, and Vijay-Rashmika reunion give the film plenty of promotional strength.
But none of these advantages will matter if the teaser fails to connect. For Vijay Deverakonda, this is more than another teaser. It could be the first real test of whether his comeback has finally begun.
