Ranveer Singh is a sure shot celebrity when it comes to inviting controversies on public platforms. His most recent engagement on an award show where many celebs of South Indian industry were present has left netizens in shock.
He was praising Rishab Shetty for his performance in Kantara and recounting his incredible performance where Chavundi Mata is invoked in Rishab’s character. He started mimicking Rishab which gave second hand embarrassment to anyone who watched him doing that.
Moreover, what has called outrage from particularly South Indian fans is the mockery of their goddess Chavundi. Ranveer Singh literally called her a ghost, without even acknowledging the name of the deity.
Many advised him not to generate controversy before Dhurandhar release, others felt this is the reason makers have given up on ground promotion with Ranveer. Others asked him to publicly apologise for his ignorance and disrespect of fans’ sentiments.
