Rashmika Mandanna has been exploring different kinds of characters, but Mysaa could be an important test of how far she can take that approach. After The Girlfriend and Ranabaali, the actress is now stepping into a much more aggressive space with a period action drama that places her at the centre of the story.

In The Girlfriend, Rashmika played Bhooma, a young woman struggling to find her voice in a controlling relationship. The film relied on emotional depth, and Rashmika described it as a niche and thought-provoking film.

Ranabaali presented her as Jayamma, the wife of Vijay Deverakonda’s titular character, in a historical drama. It offered another shade of her performance, with her character connected to the film’s larger conflict.

Mysaa, however, is a different bet. Set against a tribal backdrop, the film features Rashmika as a fierce Gond woman in an action-oriented role. The actress has described it as a full-fledged commercial film, making it an important shift from the emotionally driven space of The Girlfriend.

Rashmika has shown that she is willing to experiment with different characters. But can Mysaa take that ambition a step further and establish her as a strong commercial lead in a female-driven film? That is the bigger question surrounding this project.
