Among them, Chhaava emerged as the biggest blockbuster of the year, grossing around 700 crores worldwide. On the other hand, Sikandar with Salman Khan was a disaster and broke her success streak. However, she bounced back slightly with Kuberaa, which received a positive response both at the box office and from audiences.
Now, her next film, Thamma, is generating a lot of heat in trade circles. Despite all the hype surrounding the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, it is Rashmika’s presence that is grabbing the spotlight. Thamma is also releasing in Telugu simultaneously, as the makers aim to cash Rashmika’s craze in the Telugu market.
Thamma is set to release on October 21 as a Diwali treat in both Bollywood and South Indian languages. If the film succeeds, it will mark her third hit of the year. Additionally, her Telugu film The Girlfriend is expected to release on November 7, and the success of Thamma could boost its buzz. Thamma also features three item songs showcasing Rashmika’s hottest avatar, designed to attract a wider audience.
Thamma is expected to open with around 20 crores in Hindi on its first day. Though expectations were initially higher following the blockbuster success of Stree 2 in the same universe, the hype cooled somewhat after a trailer that was mid. Still, the film is expected to entertain kids and family audiences, potentially turning into another big success for Rashmika. If the word of mouth is positive, the Diwali festive season could provide a huge boost, helping Thamma become the next Bollywood blockbuster for Rashmika.
