Actor Raveena Tandon recently made a candid and light hearted admission after watching Dhurandhar. She revealed that she personally called Yami Gautam to apologise.
Raveena said she became a fan of Yami Gautam’s husband, director Aditya Dhar, after seeing the film. She described the call as a friendly apology for admiring his work so much.
Speaking during a podcast interaction, Raveena said she was deeply impressed by Aditya Dhar’s vision and execution. She added that audiences have been craving larger than life heroes along with rooted storytelling.
Dhurandhar, led by Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, reportedly emerged as a major commercial success after its December release. The film received strong responses across markets.
Set against the backdrop of covert intelligence operations, the story links events such as the Kandahar hijacking and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The film blends geopolitical drama with high energy action.
Industry reports claim the film crossed Rs. 1300 crore worldwide. This has placed it among the highest domestic grossers in Hindi cinema.
Raveena credited Aditya Dhar for bringing back a grand cinematic scale. She compared audience reactions to films like Pushpa: The Rise and K.G.F: Chapter 1.
She also praised performances by Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna. Raveena expressed special admiration for Ranveer Singh’s portrayal in the film.
The franchise is already moving ahead with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is slated for release in March. The sequel is expected to face box office competition from Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash.
With massive commercial numbers and a sequel underway, Dhurandhar appears set to continue as a mainstream action franchise rather than remain a one time success.
