The release of Viay-starrer Thalaivaa seems uncertain on Friday in Chennai and other surroundings areas due to some political threat. Apparently, a group run by college folks is upset that the money invested the film is ‘black’ and collected by evading tax.
Most multiplexes in Chennai have blocked booking for Thalaivaa following threats received from members of a group called Tamil Nadu Oppressed Students Revolutionary Force. They have threatened to bomb theaters if the film was screened on Friday.
A dalit has filed a case against the film claiming the story is that of his grandfather, who used to live Dharavi,Bombay and helped people earn a livelihood post-independence. He is unhappy that the story is portraying his grandfather in poor light.
