Kushi’s makers placed their trust in non-Telugu music director Hesham Abdul Wahab, who composed an album with multiple chart-topping songs for the Malayalam film “Hridayam,” a love story similar to Kushi.
Vijay Deverakonda and the core team’s confidence in Hesham is the driving force behind much of the positive buzz surrounding Kushi today.
In the present times, if even one song becomes popular, it can lead to decent openings. Although Hesham didn’t replicate a chart-topper like ‘Darshana’ from his prior works, he delivered pretty decent songs for Kushi.
Every song he created resonates effectively and, most importantly, establishes the right ambiance for the film—a crucial aspect where Hesham truly ‘delivered.’
Placing trust in a non-Telugu music director is no easy feat due to concerns about capturing the sensibilities accurately. However, the risk taken by Vijay and his team has clearly paid off.
Now, the fate lies in the hands of director Shiva Nirvana, who previously helmed the melodramatic film Tuck Jagadish. The challenge ahead is for Kushi to maintain a unique identity and avoid shades of other films.
The director bears a significant responsibility now, and deliver a hit, which holds utmost importance for both him and Vijay.
