Don’t Ignore This Pan-India Sequel! 1000 Cr Pakka?

Kantara Chapter 1 Release Update

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 has finally completed filming. The news was announced through a special video shared on the official YouTube channel of Hombale Films on July 21, 2025.

The video, which runs for almost two minutes, featured the hard work of all the actors and the crew members, working together to complete the film. A few glimpses of certain scenes have specifically grabbed attention and it has created a different level of excitement.

The video ends with Rishab Shetty announcing “Pack up” to a large group of people. This is followed by the revelation of the title card along with the release date, which is October 2, 2025.

The video undoubtedly shows Rishab’s passion to make the prequel. But the biggest question right now is whether it can meet the expectations of the audience and whether Kantara: Chapter 1 will be much better than the first film, released back in 2022.

Notably, Kantara: A Legend turned out to be one of the highest-grossing films of 2022 and also left a positive impression on the audience and critics. With limited budget of only Rs. 14 crores and a great storyline, Kantara turned out to be one of the best films.

But for the prequel, the makers have reportedly invested almost Rs. 125 crores. However, there is a fear that the content might turn out to be underwhelming, with the visuals and action taking over the priority of a good script and storyline. This is something that happened with Kanguva last year.

Kantara: Chapter 1 is a film that has been discussed on social media and everywhere else for a long time. In case the film does not deliver the expected results, the efforts will go to waste and people will end up wasting their money on the tickets.

While Rishab Shetty is considered to be an intelligent actor, director, and producer, it can be expected that he has made the film by considering the expectations of the audience. With only two months left for release, promotional materials might start to arrive by the end of August.

Let’s wait and see if Kantara: Chapter 1 will make Rishab Shetty a bigger star, specifically in the North Indian belts, and whether it will break the records made by the first film in 2022.

Considering that it is a pan-India film, it also remains to be seen if Kantara: Chapter 1 will be another blockbuster of 2025, with collections of Rs. 1,000 crores or more.
