Sailesh Kolanu is one of the few new-age directors who have shown promise. He has directed two films, Hit 1 and Hit 2, and both were neatly presented and narrated films with good technical values despite budget constraints.
Now he has taken a decent jump and is directing a senior hero like Venkatesh in an action thriller titled Saindhav. The film’s promotional material looks promising and Sailesh seems to have done a good job. He recently claimed that the last 20 minutes of the film would be one of the best cinematic experiences for the audience.
Sailesh Kolanu has proved his prowess as a director in the HIT franchise films. But outside the mysterious world of HIT, no one knows Sailesh’s caliber as a director.
Saindhav provides him with a good platform to showcase his vision to the audience. The film has a bigger setup than his previous films. The star cast is also stellar with the likes of Venkatesh, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Arya, and Shraddha Srinath. It would be interesting to see what kind of performance he will extract from these talented actors.
If Saindhav turns out to be successful it will pave the way for him to confidently approach big heroes for his next films. But if the movie fails to deliver what it promises then Sailesh Kolanu will have to again settle for tier-2 and tier-3 heroes for his next films and start from scratch.
