Salaar is one of the more promising films in Prabhas’s line up. The coming together of KGF director Prashanth Neel and Prabhas has laid the base of anticipation for the film.
Coming to the point, the makers of Salaar are said to be expecting in the range of Rs 200 crores for the Telugu states theatrical rights of the film. This is an unprecedented number for a non-Rajamouli film.
The makers are said to be quoting in the range of Rs 40 crores for the Ceeded rights of the film when approached by interested buyers. But there wasn’t any response from the buyers when they quoted this figure. So, the asking price went down to Rs 27 crores.
Despite the price drop, no buyer has committed to acquire Salaar’s Ceeded rights. The producers are now hoping that the trailer will change the fate for the film’s pre-release hype and they can secure a deal for the theatricals then.
If the buyers stay away even after the trailer, then Hombale Films will go for own release on commission basis. They saw big profits with this method for KGF 2 and Kantara. They are willing to explore this avenue for Salaar as well, if they fail to make a deal before the release.
