All the while, Salaar was the most promising film in Prabhas’s line up. It was regarded as the safe bet that could uplift Prabhas’s market after debacles like Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush.
With so much at stake, Salaar had to have everything fo in its favor right from the promotional campaign to the release date. But all of this was messed up with the postponement from 28 September.
The latest updates from the OTT and satellite rights buyers of the film are suggesting that the film is pushed to March 2024 release.
In that case, the film’s release is going to take another long wait for fans, which isn’t ideal. The postponement will inevitably take a toll on the buzz, which could’ve peaked had it released on Sep 28.
And moreover, this March release plan will now go on to disturb the release plan of Project K which was likely to be released halfway through 2024. Now that Salaar is looking at the March slot, Project K will have to lock another new release plan and this will take more time.
If Project K gets pushed, so will the film with Maruthi. This film will also have to go for a delayed release plan for spacing out reasons. In the end, Salaar’s postponement is having a direct effect on Prabhas’s planning and line up.
