Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a well known name in the Indian film industry. Thanks to her pan-Indian releases she has gained popularity well beyond South India.
She has been buzzing ever since the release of Citadel: Honey Bunny alongside Varun Dhawan. Recently, it came to public notice that she is diagnosed with Myositis and fans commended her courage for continuing with her hard work and dedication towards her films.

In an interview when she was asked about the North Vs South divide of the entertainment industry she opened up candidly. Having had experience in both the places her opinions were quite bold and logical.
She believes that despite having good content South Indian films lack in reaching a larger audience because the marketing skills of South directors are not great. She feels that a lot can be learned from North Indian directors to ensure that the regional divide is overcome.

She also praised the Bahubali director SS Rajamouli for opening an avenue for South Indian films in the North. She feels that with the coming years there will be more opportunities for the two industries to interact and progress.
