Prabhas has delivered the second-biggest hit of his career thus far with Kalki. The film is ending up in the range of Rs 900 crore gross worldwide in its full run.
The discussion now is about Prabhas’s next big film which will be with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. This project is titled Spirit and it is likely to wreak havoc at the box office whenever it releases.
Coming to the point, there is the need for Vanga to take some serious action on Prabhas and his screen presence.
Of late, there has been a widespread opinion that Prabhas is not looking the brightest. Even in Kalki, there is a portion(particularly the dance bit in 2nd half) where his moves look very artificial and uneasy.
The common talk is that Prabhas is looking lethargic and artificial in certain portions of all his recent films after Baahubali 2.
Coming to Vanga, he is a director who mostly relies on his heroes to carve out the right emotions. With Vijay Deverakonda and Ranbir Kapoor, he could build incredible character arcs. The fine performances of these actors played a crucial role in the success of his films thus far.
Though Vanga’s heroes are not required to be over-the-top or energetic, they are bound to deliver captivating performances. There is no place for lethargic movements or dull appearances here.
Though there might not be much need for Prabhas to look lively and zestful in Spirit, he must be captivating enough to drive the narrative. There is no scope for dull moments here, as is seen in his performances of late. The dubbing must also be rectified.
For this to happen, Vanga must destroy the dull side of Prabhas and mould him into the way he is accustomed to. This is going to be one of the main challenges for Vanga with regard to Spirit.
